It is designed for contractors seeking to expand their operations to projects with higher contract values, where they are authorized to undertake construction projects with contract values up to RM500,000.

The requirements and criteria for Register CIDB G2 for Contractor License involve:

  1. Company Registration with SSM: The company must have been registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).
  2. Registration with CIDB: The company must register with the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB).
  3. Relevant Construction Experience: It is necessary to demonstrate a record of relevant construction experience, albeit lesser than the G7 category but more than G1.
  4. Financial Stability: Evidence of adequate financial stability is required to handle projects with values up to RM500,000.
  5. Qualified Human Resources: Possess or have access to qualified and experienced manpower to execute construction projects.
  6. Ability to Own or Access Equipment: Must own or have access to equipment and facilities required to carry out projects.
  7. Insurance Policy Ownership: Mandatory to have appropriate insurance coverage to protect against project-related risks.
  8. Compliance with Legal Regulations: Demonstrate compliance with laws, regulations, and construction guidelines set by CIDB and local authorities.

A) List of Documents for Register CIDB G2 License

  1. Copy of valid/active Malaysia Companies Commission (SSM) Registration Certificate.
  2. Copy of current company bank statement (with end financial balance – minimum RM25,000) – balance from last month or current month (must be certified with bank stamp).
  3. Copy of the identification card of the company owner or director.
  4. Mobile phone number of the company owner.

B) Document Checklist for Registration of SPKK G2 License

  1. Bank Statements/Profit and Loss Statements/Balance Sheets for the past three years, for example, 2023, 2022, and 2021.
  2. Letter of Appreciation (6 LA/PO).
  3. CIDB Course Certificates bearing the CIDB logo (2 certificates, for example, CCD, Safety Course, SKP, SKK).

C) Document Checklist for Registration of STB G2 License

  1. Copy of the identification card of the company owner or director.
  2. Copy of the birth certificate of the company owner, director, or contributing worker.
  3. Attachment 1 – Work Acknowledgment (to be filled by all names listed in the CIMS system).
  4. Attachment 2 – Bank Confirmation Letter (to be filled by the person signing checks or bank transactions).
  5. EPF (Employees Provident Fund) – Form A + payment receipt if contributing on behalf of employees.

Contractor License Criteria (G1>G7):

  1. Ownership of Company: Bumiputera-owned company.
  2. Paid-up Capital: The minimum paid-up capital is RM5,000 (PPK only) / RM10,000 (SPKK & STB).
  3. Work Experience: No specific experience required.
  4. Projects: Able to undertake projects with a value not exceeding RM200,000.
  1. Ownership of Company: Bumiputera-owned company.
  2. Paid-up Capital: Minimum paid-up capital of RM25,000.
  3. Work Experience: Work experience in the construction industry.
  4. Projects: Able to undertake projects with a value not exceeding RM500,000.
  1. Ownership of Company: Bumiputera-owned company.
  2. Paid-up Capital: Minimum paid-up capital of RM50,000.
  3. Work Experience: Further experience in the construction industry.
  4. Projects: Able to undertake projects with a value not exceeding RM1 million.
  1. Ownership of Company: Not limited to Bumiputera.
  2. Paid-up Capital: Minimum paid-up capital of RM150,000.
  3. Work Experience: Significant work experience in the construction industry.
  4. Projects: Able to undertake projects with a value not exceeding RM3 million.
  1. Ownership of Company: Not restricted to Bumiputera.
  2. Paid-up Capital: Minimum paid-up capital of RM250,000.
  3. Work Experience: Extensive work experience and technical competence.
  4. Projects: Capable of undertaking projects with a value not exceeding RM5 million.

  2. Paid-up Capital: Minimum paid-up capital of RM500,000.
  3. Work Experience: Extensive work experience and high level of technical skills.
  4. Projects: Capable of undertaking projects with a value not exceeding RM10 million.
  1. Ownership of Company: Not restricted to Bumiputera.
  2. Paid-up Capital: Minimum paid-up capital of RM750,000.
  3. Work Experience: Extensive work experience and advanced technical skills.
  4. Projects: No maximum project value limit.
